Rise Real Estate Academy or “Rise” is an Alberta based business selling training related to Real Estate. This site and document reference the Real Estate Council of Alberta, or “RECA.“ RECA is an independent governing authority that sets, regulates and enforces standards related to Real Estate in Alberta.

Enrollment

Enrollments are accepted via our school website at http://www.riserealestateacademy.com/ or by phone at 403-912-5980 or toll free at 1-888-250-2701.

Rise values your privacy and your personal information. We may change our Privacy Statement from time to time and we encourage you to review our Terms and Conditions whenever you interact with Rise to stay informed. Please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Account Termination

Violation of any Rise policies may result in permanent dismissal from the academy.

You agree that Rise has the right to terminate your account at any time if Rise has reason to believe that your account is being fraudulently accessed for unauthorized reasons. After review of all pertinent facts and information, the GM of Rise will make the final determination in regard to account termination, dismissal and/or re-admittance.

License Information

It is the responsibility of the student to provide Rise with the student’s correct and complete RECA identification number and any and all required information (legal name, address, etc.) on record RECA. Rise will not be responsible or liable for any disciplinary action by any regulatory entity including, but not limited to, a course not being reported on time or late/reinstatement fees or changes in license status to the licensee as a result of incorrect license information provided by the student.

RECA ID Requirement

All students may enroll in our courses. A RECA ID is required in order to provide the official RECA completion certificate.

Criminal History Requirements

A criminal history may make you ineligible for the license you are seeking. For questions or information, please contact RECA.

English Fluency Requirement

Proficiency in the English language is required by RECA to become licenced to practice real estate in the province of Alberta.

Minimum Educational Requirement

RECA requires a minimum of Canadian high school education or equivalent to become licenced to practice real estate in the province of Alberta.

Electronic Textbooks

An E-Book is included with purchase of a course and terms and conditions extend to the use of all electronic and print material.

Technical System Requirements

Rise courses are delivered through a secure and proprietary Learning Management System (LMS). An internet connection is required (high speed is recommended.

Rise makes no judgments or warranties with respect to the accuracy, timeliness, or suitability of the content of any of these hyperlinks, and Rise assumes no liability for the content or presentation of the hyperlinks. By providing a hyperlink to a service or third-party website, Rise does not endorse the linked service or website, its content, or its sponsoring organization. We encourage you to read the privacy statements of each and every website to which we link. Please note that these websites may or may not have privacy policies and those policies may be more or less restrictive than Rise’s privacy policy.

Sales Tax

GST will be automatically added to the total amount of purchase due at checkout.

Promotional Codes

Promotional codes must be applied at checkout. No refund for an unused promotional code will be given after checkout has been completed. To obtain your promotional code discount, you must enter the promotional code in the box under your total at checkout and click the “Apply Discount” button. The discount amount will then be subtracted from the total amount due.

Promotional codes cannot be combined and are not eligible for use in conjunction with payment plans, extensions, or additional certificates of completion.

Exam Pass Guarantee™

For courses purchased prior to April 30, 2023, you are entitled to receive a refund from Rise for the licensing exam fee less an administration fee of $50 in the event that you fail your initial attempt at the licensing exam.

The Exam Pass Guarantee™ is only applicable to the first exam attempt; you must write the exam within 60 days of your course completion; and the Exam Pass Guarantee™ may only be redeemed once per student, per course. 100% of the course material must be completed and a valid course completion certificate must be issued in order to be eligible for the Rise Exam Pass Guarantee™.

Refund Policy

Rise Real Estate Academy is committed to student satisfaction. If you are unsatisfied for any reason, Rise Real Estate Academy will refund the purchase price of any course if the refund request is submitted within 10 days of purchase, prior to course expiration, and the course is not completed beyond Module Two. A $300 administration fee will be deducted from the refund.

Rise does not offer price adjustments on previously purchased items.

Course Completion

Students must complete 100% of the learning material presented in a course and demonstrate understanding of the material by completing all in course learning exercise to receive credit for the course. Students not completing 100% of the material will not be issued a certificate of completion and will not receive credit for the course.

Students will not be eligible to write a RECA Provincial Exam without a certificate of completion. Students wishing to receive a Certificate of Completion for the Pre-Licencing Exam offered by RECA must provide their RECA ID prior to or upon course completion.

Course Expiration

Courses expire 12 (twelve) months from the original date of purchase. For those courses that expire 12 (twelve) months after the date of purchase, the student will be granted an automatic 1 (one) month extension at no charge and such 1 (one) month free extension will be applied immediately after the initial 12 (twelve) month term.

Extensions or reactivations cannot be granted beyond 13 (thirteen) months from the original date of purchase of the course since in all events, the course expires 13 (thirteen) months from the original date of purchase.

Copyright Policy

All Rights Reserved. All course materials offered by Rise are copyrighted by either Rise or its licensed content providers. No part of Rise’s course content may be reproduced, retransmitted, distributed, sold, published, broadcasted or circulated, including to individuals in the same company or organization, without the express written consent of Rise. Course content received electronically via the Internet may (when permitted) be displayed or printed for your personal, non-commercial use only. Purchase of a course includes a license for one person to use the course materials through course expiration, unless otherwise stated. Completed course access is available for 3 months. It is not permissible to distribute files containing course materials or printed versions of course materials to individuals who have not purchased the course(s) without the express written consent from Rise. It is also not permissible to make the course materials available to others over a computer network, Intranet, Internet, or any other storage, transmittal, or retrieval system without the express written consent of Rise.

Legal Waiver

Rise, its authors, publishers, instructors, and employees are not in any way offering legal, accounting, tax, or any other professional or legal advice. No information communicated by any of the above, or contained in any course(s) created by Rise, shall be construed as such. If professional or legal advice is required, you should seek the services of a competent advisor. By purchasing from Rise, you hereby agree to hold harmless and release Rise, and its directors, officers, agents, instructors and employees from any and all liability and/or loss or damage based on, or in any way related to, Rise’s course content or Rise’s providing of the course content.

Rise takes standard precautions to ensure that its systems are secure and that they meet industry standards, including the application of firewalls for its Internet-based systems. When appropriate, Rise employs the use of encryption technologies, user authentication systems (e.g., passwords and personal identification numbers) and access control mechanisms. Rise does not guarantee that your information is safe from an attack on its systems. By purchasing from Rise, you hereby agree to hold harmless and release Rise, and its directors, officers, agents, instructors and employees from any and all liability or loss or damage based on or in any way related to the above in any form or fashion.

THE COURSES PROVIDED BY RISE AND THE INFORMATION CONTAINED ON RISE WEBSITE ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND WITHOUT ANY WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. RISE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. Limitation of Damages

If applicable law does not permit the exclusion or limitation of liability or certain categories of damages, the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you and the applicable law shall govern. In no event, however, shall Rise’s total liability to you for all damages, losses, or causes of action exceed the amount paid by you to Rise in the last 12-month period.
